The theme in the Gallery this week is Planes, Trains and Automobiles.
So basically transport; that can be bicycles, motorbikes, camper vans, motor homes or jet skis.
Interpret it any way you like and then come back and let’s get that motor running (sorry).
A few years back one of my friends asked if I wanted to go to a conference with her to Antwerp. She would go off to and listen to
boring interesting Orthoptic related things and I could wander around looking around the lovely city. Our plan was we would jump on the train in the evenings and check out neighbouring cities and be all cultural. And that we were. We gorged on Belgian chocolate, waffles, more chocolate and ooh’d and ahhhh’d at the diamond quarter. And then ate more chocolate.
One evening we made our way to the train station to go to Brussels. And we were met with this…
A double decker train!!!
Despite the fact that the UK is filled with double decker busses, we were amazed, not having seen one of these before, and like civilised adults in their late 20s, excitedly ran to the top! Then proceeded to go back to nattering and putting the world right all the way to our next destination.

What a cool train! Did it feel just like a normal train?
Feels a bit like a virgin train, not sure if it actually does tilt but you do feel a bit sicky by the end!
Oh yes, been on one in Sydney. Imagine that hurtling up to Waterloo!
Haha, or through Manchester. Just wouldn’t work would it?
Oh wow I have never seen anything like that either! How cool. I would run straight to the top too! x
We were like excited children! 🙂
We need some of them!
We do!! Then no more standing in people’s smelly armpits.
I felt the same when I saw one in Spain… and then they played music on the underground… my mind was blown!! LOL xx
They are fanastic aren’t they?
Wow that is pretty cool, I have never seen one like that before!
It was very cool, you’ll have to visit Belgium, they seem to be everywhere.
Wow. I’ve never seen a double-decker train before!
Would be great to have them here!
I remember the first time I went on a double decker tube in Paris. Loved it and sat at the top.
Such a novelty isn’t it?
Very cool! I’d love to travel in one of those.
It was very spacious too. We need those here I think!
I’d never seen one until now. Great snap x
It’s worth going on at least once… And you have to sit at the top ofcourse!
I remember travelling in a double decker train through America. It was fun!
Feels exciting even as adults doesn’t it?
That looks fantastic -I bet the views were fab from the top!
They were. I think they go all round Europe too!
These are fantastic! We got on one from Brussels to Bruges, funnily enough, I was accompanying a friend who was attending a conference too! Never eaten so many waffles in my life, but oooh they were good!
Would be great if we had double decker trains in the UK, no more squashing on the tube! (Brois I hope you’re reading this!)
They are so good aren’t they? We really do need them. I’m sure our trains must be about 100 years old now… Or close!
What a fantastic picture. x
wow that’s pretty impressive. My son would love to go on one of those x
That is very cool! X
It’s groovy. Infact if I would be there at your place I would do the same. I love bi-level coach and prefer always upper coach. It’s been a fun ride for you. I was also amazed by watching the picture and its great we are moving forward in technology too much.
